Following the approval of the expansion project by the Municipality of Piacenza and after a year of construction, Telema S.p.A. inaugurated the new Quarto plant — a milestone representing a strategic step forward in the company’s growth and innovation journey.
With this expansion, Telema doubles its production space, adding over 4,700 m² dedicated to manufacturing and 1,100 m² of new office areas. This is not just about growing in size, but about enhancing production capacity, efficiency, and innovation.
The new industrial complex includes a 4,700 m² facility dedicated to metalworking, fan production, BTMS lines, braking resistors for large electric vehicles, and a new testing room for aerodynamic and thermodynamic tests, along with a building of about 1,100 m² housing offices, changing rooms, and a company canteen.
Of particular importance in the metalworking department is the installation of an advanced automation system equipped with an automatic warehouse for storing raw and processed metal sheets. Together with automated loading and unloading systems, it feeds two laser machines and a combined system for cutting and punching sheets.
Special attention has been given to energy efficiency and environmental sustainability. The new site features high thermal insulation envelopes and heat pump systems powered by a photovoltaic plant of about 470 kW, significantly reducing energy consumption and CO₂ emissions.
A rainwater collection system is also planned for irrigating green areas, along with charging stations for electric vehicles to promote more sustainable company mobility.
The outdoor area has been designed with a new landscaping plan, which includes the planting of over 100 trees and 200 native shrubs selected for their ability to absorb CO₂ and fine dust, contributing to the improvement of the microclimate. Among the planted species are Carpinus betulus, Fraxinus excelsior, and Quercus robur fastigiata, capable of storing up to more than 380,000 kg of CO₂ over their lifespan. The landscaping project was developed according to the guidelines of the REBUS program of the Emilia-Romagna Region and the MASAF, in collaboration with the CNR, to ensure maximum environmental effectiveness and full respect for local biodiversity.
This expansion represents not only an industrial investment but also a commitment to the local community and people. Telema continues to grow responsibly, combining technological innovation, environmental awareness, and the enhancement of human skills. A concrete step towards the future — driven by quality, sustainability, and the passion that have always defined the company.
